Customer loyalty system in Tunisia: play, come back, recommend

Dawwerni is a customer loyalty system built in Tunisia for cafés, restaurants, barbers and salons, parapharmacies, game rooms and shops. Customers scan a QR code on the table or the receipt, play a short game with no app to download, win a reward valid on their next visit and join your digital loyalty card. A concrete example: a coffee shop in Tunis prints 'Scan and win' on every till receipt and finds its regulars in its own CRM.

Why loyalty works differently in Tunisia

Tunisians are loyal by habit: people have 'their' café, 'their' barber, 'their' parapharmacy. The risk is not a lack of habit, it is the new place next door with a nicer terrace and an active Instagram page. A loyalty system that works in Tunisia has to be quick at the counter, free for the customer and easy for everyone, from high-school students to retirees.

Paper stamp cards get lost, permanent discounts eat the margin, and almost nobody installs an app for a single shop. A QR game is understood in two seconds and gives people a reason to come back.

Neighbourhood cafés versus coffee shops

The traditional café lives on volume, regulars and football nights; the coffee shop lives on its terrace, students, photos and Google reviews. The first needs a simple digital stamp card ('9 coffees, the 10th is on us') and a fast game; the second needs a polished QR menu, games and a strong Google Maps presence. See loyalty for cafés.

Restaurants, salons, parapharmacies and boutiques

Restaurants want to fill slow days and handle the lunch rush; salons and barbers want fewer no-shows; parapharmacies want customers back for regular care; boutiques want to turn sales season into lasting customers. Each business switches on the modules that fit its trade, for example restaurant loyalty.

Game rooms, academies and real estate

PlayStation and billiards rooms charge by the hour or by the match, sports academies chase monthly fees, and real estate agencies chase seller listings. Dawwerni has a dedicated module for each, designed around how they actually run in Tunisia.

How Dawwerni works in your business

  1. Place the QR code on tables, the counter, the window, the receipt, a TV screen or an Instagram story.
  2. The customer scans with the phone camera: no app, no account.
  3. They play a short game: wheel, mystery doors, quiz, scratch card, Plinko, slot machine, with 13 themes including Ramadan, Eid, Summer and Football.
  4. They win a reward you chose, with odds and quantities you control. A unique code is verified at the counter, with anti-fraud play limits.
  5. They are invited, optionally, to follow your Instagram and leave an honest Google review. The reward never depends on the review.
  6. The reward is valid on the next visit: the customer returns, and their profile (name, phone, birthday if given) is saved in your CRM.

Modules, with Tunisian specifics

Google reviews, done within the rules

On Google Maps, competition between Tunisian cafés and restaurants is intense, and fresh reviews matter. Dawwerni invites every customer, the same way, to leave an honest and optional review. No filtering of happy customers, no bought reviews and never a gift in exchange for a review: the reward is tied to the visit or the game, not to the rating.

You can start for free with the Google review QR poster tool, and read our guide on getting more Google reviews for a café in Tunisia.

Built in Tunisia, used by Tunisian businesses

Dawwerni is developed in Tunisia by a startup holding the Startup Label. It is the first gamified loyalty system in Tunisia, and it is used by businesses such as Parahouse (parapharmacy), Qurios (health and beauty), The Big Eight (café and billiards), Dar Elkhanchouch (restaurant) and La Riva (café).

In practice, that means WhatsApp support that understands your reality, copy in dialect when you need it, and a POS that speaks dinar and timbre fiscal. More background in our Tunisia loyalty guide.

Prices and getting started

The subscription is yearly: 399 DT for Standard (2 active games, Google review and Instagram redirect, print-ready QR codes and flyers, winner verification, dashboard) and 459 DT for Premium (4 games, loyalty points, CRM and email campaigns, automatic birthday offers, tablet kiosk mode). There is a free plan (1 business, QR code and basic analytics) and a 7-day free trial. Multi-branch chains are quoted.

City pages for Tunis, Sfax and Sousse are available in French and Arabic, with neighbourhood-level advice.

  2. A 10-minute call to set up your first game and rewards together.
  3. Print the kit (posters, table tents, stickers) or add the QR to your receipts.
  4. Teach the team one simple sentence at the counter, then follow results in the dashboard.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Dawwerni cost in Tunisia?

399 DT per year for Standard and 459 DT per year for Premium. The free plan lets you start with one business, a QR code and basic analytics, and the 7-day trial lets you test before paying. Chains with several branches get a quote.

Do my customers need to download an app?

No. They scan the QR code with the phone camera, play in the browser and keep their digital loyalty card on a web page. For customers without a phone, kiosk mode on a counter tablet works too.

Does the POS handle the timbre fiscal?

Yes, Dawwerni POS can add the timbre fiscal as an option on A4 invoices (1 DT by default, editable). For your exact accounting and tax obligations, check with your accountant.

Is it allowed to link a game to Google reviews?

The game rewards the visit, not the review. Every customer is invited the same way to leave an honest, optional review, and no reward depends on it. That is the approach consistent with Google's rules.

Do I need a permit for a contest?

For in-store games and Instagram contests, write clear rules (rewards, duration, conditions). For a large operation, check with the Ministry of Commerce or a lawyer before launching.

Can I use it in Arabic or French?

Yes. The interface, games and QR menu work in Arabic, French and English, and the AI assistant can write your messages in Tunisian dialect.
